El Area announces divestiture of BuscaTrip.com
Buscatrip.com, a joint-venture between Voxel Soluções em Informatica and El Area´s CEO Franco Pontillo, along with Voxel
Informatica Travel Assets, has been aquired by Sabre Travel Network.
São Paulo, Brazil, 17/10/2008 - El Area, a venture firm from
São Paulo Brasil, and Voxel Soluções em Informatica, a software development
company, successfully divested Buscatrip.com, a travel price comparison
platform, which has been acquired by Sabre Travel Network. Sabre Travel Network, a Sabre Holdings
company which provides end-to-end solutions for corporate and leisure travel.
Currently, Sabre collectively handles over 70 percent of the BTN 100 bookings. In December 2007 El Area invested in Buscatrip.com, a
business unit of Voxel Informatica travel assets. The platform is currently used by Buscape.com.br,
the leading price comparison website in Buscatrip´s platform earns revenue based on a share of the
publicity sold by the client, using a cost-per-click (CPC) metric. The platform
scans 760 airline companies throughout the world, both low-cost and traditional
carriers. The independent travel search site model is similar to international
